Control: 5.E.8 Commissioning Readiness Confirmed
Title | Description |
Context |
Commissioning is the start of an intensive and high risk closing phase of the project delivery. It is the confirmation that the actual functionality meets the design intent in all aspects. There is often pressure to make-up for schedule losses from earlier phases, making it vulnerable to cutting corners and uncontrolled acceptance of systems and deliverables. This control is needed to ensure that the organisation and all specified requirements including supporting systems and equipment for CSU are ready in order to avoid rushed commissioning activities and systems being accepted that do not meet the agreed standards and quality. |
Activity |
Confirm that the commissioning execution plan, organisation and systems are ready before starting commissioning. A Commissioning and Start-up Incident (CSI) process shall be put in place to capture learnings and deal with root causes. Learnings can be applied on own project and data source can be used to communicate these learnings across the organisation quickly. |
Purpose |
To allow site completions and commissioning activities to be executed as shown in the project schedule, by trained, competent resources, to the agreed standards and quality using the agreed processes and tools. |
