Context

Lack of market intelligence on equipment and material prices, contractor/supplier capability and capacity, interest and performance can lead to an inadequate CP strategy.

Likewise, the lack of understanding and management of critical risks identified when creating the contracting strategy may affect the effectiveness of the strategy.

Failure to identify and assess industry best practices and standardised solutions i.e. standards, execution practices, vendor equipment, innovations. will lead to sub-optimal definition of the chosen concept and erosion of the business case value.

Activity

Develop a CP strategy that takes into account:
  • (Local) market and competitor intelligence
  • Capability and capacity
  • Replication loading process
  • Industry best practices and standardised solutions

Purpose

To ensure a CP strategy is developed and maintained, aligned with the (local) market and includes the value the market has to offer through replication loading.
