Control: 2.S.7 Stakeholder Requirements Addressed
Title | Description |
Context |
Lack of good stakeholder relationship management throughout the Planning for Success in the Front End process may result in incomplete value, cost and/or risk trade-offs being made. Good stakeholder relationship management should help opportunity teams to make transparent value, cost and risk trade-offs in response to stakeholder requirements. Therefore, this control is needed to proactively manage the risk of stakeholders insisting on changes to scope post Decision Gate 3 (DG3), with resulting cost and schedule escalation. |
Activity |
Ensure that stakeholder requirements are considered as decision criteria for concept selection. Provide transparency on the trade-offs in order to develop stakeholder influencing strategies for managing misalignment on the preferred concept. |
Purpose |
Concept selection is done on the basis of a complete understanding of value drivers and the needs of key stakeholders for the opportunity. To ensure that the selected concept is supported by partners, governments and communities. |
