Control: 2.D.9 Quality Decisions Against Original Value Drivers
Title | Description |
Context |
In the Define phase a new team takes over responsibility for delivering the project. Over and above the frozen scope and concept, the new team will be challenged to find cost reductions or schedule optimisation opportunities to improve or maintain the value of the project. The original functionality or business case value may be further eroded if these decisions are taken without reviewing the original value drivers and trade-offs. This control is therefore needed to ensure that project teams in later phases of the Opportunity Realisation Process (ORP) consider the original value drivers and trade-offs when applying Management of Change (MoC). |
Activity |
Screen decisions and change proposals against original value drivers and trade-offs when applying MoC. |
Purpose |
To ensure that the Project Leadership Team makes high quality value/cost/risk trade-off decisions on cost and schedule improvement proposals. |
