Control: 1.D.5 HSSE & SP Risk Management Integrated into Design
Title |
Description |
Context |
Integrating the HSSE & SP risk management into the design, ensures process safety is addressed. Failure to manage design and operations HSSE & SP hazards to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) at the end of Define leads to additional engineered controls to manage risk to ALARP, or even the inability to manage risks to ALARP. Poor detailed design of Hazard and Effect Management Process (HEMP) controls can result in incidents during execution and operation. |
Activity |
Implement and close out HSSE & SP recommendations to ensure risk reduction measures to manage risk to ALARP are included in the design. |
Purpose |
To be able to demonstrate that the design and operations HSSE & SP risks associated with the design have been evaluated and controls are in place to manage risks to ALARP. |
